Lyric coloratura soprano Ashley Roper possesses a voice described as “beautiful,” and characterized by “richness and warmth.” Fascinated by a wide range of genres and gifted with versatility, Ashley maintains an active performance schedule encompassing all periods and styles, from the middles ages to the modern era.
Most recently, in March 2016, Ashley in the role of Josephine in Asbury Memorial Theatre’s production of HMS Pinafore was praised as having “an incredible soprano voice that will knock your socks off.”
An advocate of early music, Ashley is a founding member of Savannah Baroque, which will present its debut concert in May 2016. Additionally, she has performed with The Goliards, an early music ensemble specializing in medieval and renaissance music since 2010.
Ashley enjoys collaborative projects, and is available for operatic and musical productions, recitals, jazz and ambient music, weddings and special events.
Currently Ashley is a staff chorister at St. John’s Church in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia. Passionate about teaching, she also maintains a private voice studio.
